چکیده

Medium manganese (MMn) steels are a promising class of advanced high-strength (AHSS) with potential for application as vehicle panels in the automotive industry. In this study, deformation behaviour representative cold-rolled MMn steel and its dependence on processing parameters studied using uniaxial tensile testing under low-temperature hot stamping (LTHS) conditions, covering austenitisation soaking times 60–600 s, temperatures 500–700 °C strain rates 0.01–5 s?1. A yield point phenomenon is observed first time early stage at such steel, which has submicron grain size. The extent reduced, hardening capability total elongation enhanced, longer times, give coarser-grained microstructures. also tends to be weaker higher lower rates; these both flow stress degree decrease, while insensitive differences conditions. mechanisms test conditions discussed. addition, set unified constitutive equations established calibrated experimental data predict LTHS close agreement experiment, including phenomenon, obtained.

Fatigue strength evaluation of self-piercing riveted cold rolled steel joints under mixed mode loading conditions

Fatigue strength of cross-shaped specimens of SPR joints made of SPCC was evaluated at load angles of 0°, 45°, and 90°. For the static strength at load angles of 0°, 45°, and 90°, the maximum loads were determined to be 4890N, 1969N, and 1611N, respectively. Regarding for the relationship between the load amplitude and the number of cycles (Nf), the results were 014 . 0 3 . 2209 − = f amp N P ,...

Kinetics of Austenite Recrystallization during the Annealing of Cold-rolled Fe-Mn-Al-C Steel

In the current study, the recrystallization behavior of 75% cold-rolled Fe-22Mn-10Al-1.4C steel during annealing at 750, 770, 790, 810, and 830°C was studied. X-ray diffraction patterns and optical microscopy were used to characterize microstructures. The Vickers Micro-hardness test was used to characterize recrystallization kinetics during annealing. Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov (JMAK) model...

Dynamic Recrystallization under Hot Deformation of a PH Stainless Steel

Dynamic recrystallization, DRX, behaviour of a precipitation hardened, PH, stainless steel was studied in connection with microstructural developments in a compression test. The experimental results showed that the dominant mechanism of softening is DRX, but at high strain rates and low temperatures, ie, high Zener-Holman parameter, Z, work hardening and dynamic recovery, DRV, produced a pancke...

Deformation Microstructure and Texture in a Cold-Rolled Austenitic Steel with Low Stacking-Fault Energy

Deformation microstructure and texture in a cold-rolled austenitic steel 310S with low stacking fault energy (SFE) have been investigated by SEM and TEM. When 310S plates were rolled by 95% in thickness reduction, a remarkable development of the brass-type preferred orientation was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. SEM observations of the specimens with such texture exhibited a layered structure ...

PREDICTION OF HOT DEFORMATION BEHAVIOUR OF A PH STAINLESS STEEL AT HIGH STRAIN RATES

In this study the hot deformation behaviour of a precipitation hardened (PH) stainless steel at high strain rates has been predicted through hot compression testing. Stress-strain curves were obtained for a range of strain rates from 10-3 to 10+1 S-1 and temperatures from 850 to 1150°C. Results obtained by microstructure and stress-strain curves show that at low temperatures and high strain rat...
